Leading the design function for a CNI project at 'Client X' via Accenture Interactive
Summary
Brief
Large scale programme delivery of a complex financial system that serves as Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) to UK banking network. Delivered remotely via Scaled Agile (SAFe) methodology.
My role
UX lead across a team of 25 people consisting of elaboration, design, full stack developers and testers within an agile release train of 300+ people.
Key responsibilities and deliverables
Subject Matter Expert on User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design for the programme and led the design team.
Built a design system from ground up - commitment to foundational effort to gain long-term efficiencies for the team.
Developing components, patterns and screens (atomic design) for reusability in future use cases.
Provided design thinking and awareness of system-wide implications whilst adhering to the overall vision and strategy.
Established ways of working for the design and functional teams with continual process and team improvement.
Guided team members on best practices and motivated them to succeed.
Key coach for the junior designer on the team.
Client engagement
Balanced client and supplier (Accenture) requirements.
Managed stakeholders through expertise, evidence and contract.
Led workshops and demonstrations with senior stakeholders from the bank to present functionality and design; providing guidance and rationale.
Built relationships of trust based on design expertise - proven through foresight, understanding and delivery.
