Cherish

Life passes by so quickly that by the time you want to appreciate someone you love, it is sometimes too late.

My dad suffered from cancer in the later part of his life and passed away just before his 60th birthday. He was diagnosed in 2008 and was given 6 months to live. It was his love of life and an eternally devoted wife that enabled him to survive another 4 years.

It was in his final 3 months (we didn't know it at this point) that I asked him to start writing down his memories - much like a life diary. I wanted him to create a memoir so that we could look back on his cherished memories, together. Unfortunately, this idea came too late. Going through so many chemotherapy sessions had taken its toll and he was too sick to even hold the pen properly...

I regret not asking him to start many years ago.

DYR Diary is the direct result of this personal experience of love and loss. Every person should be able to leave something behind that their family and loved ones can cherish as a celebration of their life.

Do You Remember Diary, or DYR Diary (pronounced 'dear diary') is a bespoke diary that can be given to a loved one as the perfect life journal.

We live in a technology-driven world where we document every minute of our lives for the sake of it. Originality and sentimentality have dwindled in the wake of social media. DYR Diary is something tangible that can be shared with the current generation and then handed down, much like a heirloom.

The starter bundle includes one DYR Diary and a number of pick and mix Packs so that you can properly customise the gift for the receiver:

  • 1 x DYR Diary. A B5-sized journal with built-in ring binder to which sections and Packs  can be added according to your taste.

  • 2 x Packs. A Pack is a subject or section on a specific topic. The starter pack includes My Family and Childhood.

  • Photo Corners. These are self-adhesive corners that allow you to add photos to any pages of your diary.

Memories...shared eternally...
